HOL Guard is a CLI that sits between AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor and your machine. It checks shell commands, secrets-file reads, MCP tool calls and package installs against a local policy, then allows, blocks or asks before they run, and keeps a local record of each decision. The local runtime is open source under Apache-2.0 and free on one machine, works offline and needs no account; the optional paid Guard Cloud adds team sync. It is not a network gateway or firewall.
